1 / What is Consider It Therapy?
Consider It Therapy offers mental health services by providing therapy for individuals. In a world that can be challenging, frightening, overwhelming, and complex, it's not uncommon to feel less than okay at times. We believe that everyday mental wellbeing maintenance is crucial for survival and aim to facilitate that.
2 / Who is Consider It Therapy suitable for?
We aim to connect with people regardless of gender, race, sexuality, age, disability, or background. We work with adults aged 16 and above, offering short-term and long-term therapy for a wide range of issues. However, we are not a crisis service. If you currently feel suicidal and don't think you can keep yourself safe, please contact the emergency services on 999. Crisis support may also be found from the Mental Health Hub at NHS 111, the Samaritans at www.samaritans.org or by calling 116 123 or Breathing Space at www.breathingspace.scot or on 0800 83 85 87.
3 / How much does it cost?
We charge a standard fee of £80 per 50-minute session. Fees are payable 24 hours prior to session by bank transfer, unless it has been agreed that a card or cash payment will be made at the session. We offer a limited number of reduced fee sessions at £45 for students and those who are unemployed or on a lower income. This must be discussed and agreed during the initial consultation.
4 / How do I book?
Sessions can be booked by either contacting the preferred therapist directly (via the email on their page), or by contacting the practice (via the email info@considerittherapy.org) and being linked up with a therapist.
5 / How do I know which therapist to choose?
Our therapists "about" pages will tell you a bit more about our backgrounds and approaches, which may help you get a feel for who would be right for you. If you are still unsure we can also match you up with a therapist based on matching availabilities, as all therapists have differing time slots available.
6 / Can I change my therapist?
Absolutely! Therapy must work for you, and as therapists are real people they are not all the same. If you find you are not developing a therapeutic connection with your therapist we would first encourage you to discuss it with your therapist. If no acceptable resolution is found we can help you switch to one of our other therapists. We will discourage hopping between therapists though, as this won't help you on your journey, it will merely delay the process for you.
7 / What happens if I want to rearrange a session?
We know that sometimes things happen or plans change, and you may need to cancel or rearrange a session. If you contact your therapist by email with 24 hours’ notice we will cancel or rearrange your session without charge. However, if you give us less notice than this, the full fee will be charged as it is often difficult to fill these empty sessions.
8 / Can I contact my therapist between sessions?
You are welcome to contact your therapist between sessions to cancel or rearrange sessions. Other contact with your therapist between sessions is discouraged. Please note that your therapist will not always be on their emails and so there will be delays in responses. In the case of an emergency, please call 999. If you feel you are in crisis and require immediate support, crisis support may also be found from the Mental Health Hub at NHS 111; the Samaritans on www.samaritans.org or by calling 116 123; or by contacting Breathing Space at www.breathingspace.scot or by calling on 0800 83 85 87.
9 / Are sessions confidential?
Feeling safe to share is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship; therefore, the content of all sessions is confidential. There are some exceptional circumstances in which something can’t be kept confidential, for example, if you or someone else might be at risk of serious harm. You can find more details on our privacy policy documents and in our code of conduct. Your therapist will discuss the limits of confidentiality with you in your first session.
10 / Where do sessions take place?
If you choose to see a therapist face-to-face, therapy takes place in our therapy rooms within the Baltic Chambers in Glasgow city centre. The exact address is: Consider It Therapy Suite 436-437 Baltic Chambers 50 Wellington Street Glasgow G2 6HJ If you would prefer, you can see a therapist online or over the phone.
